Winter snows and clouded skies loom
Sore blue hooves pad quietly through
As the pale blue tail trails behind
Wings droop down limply in gloom
Night has long passed
Though her daughter still staggers
The day is painful and blinding
Cyan eyes are hazed over and lost
As the night's daughter strolls roads ever winding
The path is long and twisted
As the snow strangles and hides it
she reaches the break in the road
And no longer knowing her way
She takes the other path
The other path is protected by old weeping trees
With branches that hang down and tug at her mane
Branches as black as the frozen seas
Another wrong turn and she cannot look back
She cannot see
A new moon rises
And she drowns in her own pain
Countless vain filled nights have passed
She staggers on into the darkness
She does not look back
